northeast is bracing for the worst of today's winter weather. more than a foot of snow is forecast in parts of new england and new york. it's expected to be the biggest storm of the season so far. most schools in new york, boston, and philadelphia are already closed for today. thousands of flights have been cancelled. we are monitoring the situation here

update you in the next ten minutes. and you can stay connected around the clock by following us on facebook, twitter, and the stormwatch seven weather app. a manhunt happening now in fairfax county. three suspects are on the loose after a theft and car chase. it all started at tyson's mall last night. we're told the suspects stole purses from bloomingdales and took off. the car was reported to police and spotted a short time later in vienna. the car tried to get away but crashed along besley road, and they ran off. again- 3 suspects on the loose right now. police are using helicopters and k-9 units to search the area. breaking overnight.. protesters blocking immigration enforcement vehicles. jummy olabanji is at the live desk - jummy? seven protesters are under arrest, after a heated demonstration outside an immigration office in phoenix. the protest began after a woman was taken into custody and ordered to be deported. it happened after she showed up for a routine immigration check. last night, the activists blocked a van belonging to immigration and

enforcement.. or ice. they were trying to stop her from being deported. the woman, guadalupe garcia de rayos, was arrested in 2009 for working with a false social security number. ice released a statement. it says the woman was detained based on a removal order issued by the justice department, which was made final in 20-13. and it says she has a prior felony conviction for criminal impersonation. garcia de rayos is among the first illegal immigrants targeted for deportation under president trump's strict new immigration rules. jeff sessions will be sworn in this morning as the country's 84th attorney general. the president and vice president will participate in the ceremony. sessions was narrowly confirmed wednesday after

confirmation battle. only one democrat, west virginia's joe manchin, crossed party lines to support sessions' nomination. no ruling yet on president trump's halted travel ban. a federal court heard arguments on the controversial order tuesday- but is not ready to rule. meanwhile - the president is now saying he wanted to give travelers a month's notice before instituting the ban, but claims he was overruled by law enforcement. we're on watch for the ruling around the clock - stay with abc-7 and wjla.com. a look at the big board - you can see 95 flights leaving reagan canceled already this morning.... 90 flights arriving canceled. airlines preemptively cancel flights so crews and passengers don't get stranded. it also makes it easier for them to get things back on track once a storm passes. most airlines have deals in place so passengers can rebook their flights without any penalties. doesnt need to be very specific for delays - jummy can ad lib a bit, but mention delays/cancellations right now, focus on problems for airlines and also mention options being offered for waivers etc. also please see toss i wrote for larry good facts from abc to include. -more than 3500 hundred flights already canceled. contractor accused of stealing highly classified information has been indicted on 20 criminal counts. harold martin from glen burnie

arrested this summer after the f-b-i raided his house and found an estimated 50 terabytes of top-secret electronic files. we're now learning those documents included counterterroism operations.. a target the c-i-a was tracking.. and the launch of a satellite. the indictment also alleges martin stole information for nearly two decades! president trump taking on nordstrom in his latest tweet. nordstrom stopped carrying ivanka trump's clothing line - citing less than stellar sales. the president- didn't let it slide. he tweeted first on his personal account -- "my daughter ivanka has been treated unfairly by nordstrom." nordstrom the move was not politically motivated, but made strictly on performance. its' important mail you try to keep an eye out for... tax forms... a paycheck. but this week one d-c man found a pile of it left out on the street. craig baker discovered what he says were financial documents including his neighbor's w-2 forms outside a abandoned home on q-street. one women even believes her
